Jimmy Butler isn’t holding back when it comes to praising Steph Curry and his impact on the Warriors’ playoff hopes. After Golden State pulled off a clutch Game 1 win over the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center, Butler had one clear message about Curry’s performance and what it means for the team’s title chances.

Speaking to TNT’s Allie LaForce right after the game, Butler couldn’t help but marvel at Curry’s 31-point showing. “Like I always say, Batman comes out of nowhere,” Butler said. “You never see him coming. Then he just falls from the sky, from a building, behind a door and does some incredible things. He’s going to be the reason that we do win it all. We all know that. But we got to protect him at all costs.”

It’s pretty clear Butler sees Curry as more than just a teammate. Since joining the Warriors just before the trade deadline on February 6, Butler has been hyping up Curry nonstop. He even started calling himself “Robin” and dubbing Steph “Batman” — a nickname that’s stuck as Curry continues to pull off highlight-reel performances when it matters most.

Butler has brought plenty of grit and leadership to the squad, and there’s no doubt he’ll play a big role if the Warriors go deep in the playoffs. But even he knows the heart and soul of this team is still Curry. And based on what we’ve seen lately, Steph is ready to carry the load.

Golden State’s Game 1 victory wasn’t just a team win — it was a reminder of how dangerous Curry can be when he flips the switch. He took over the game when it counted, knocking down impossible shots and controlling the pace like only he can. Butler, clearly fired up, made it clear that this kind of performance is exactly why the Warriors are still contenders.

Butler’s arrival gave the Warriors the spark they needed late in the season, but he’s the first to admit that everything revolves around No. 30. Curry’s been here before, and Butler seems more than happy to play the supporting role if it means getting another ring.

There’s still a long road ahead in the playoffs, but the chemistry between Curry and Butler is already turning heads. With Steph in full Batman mode and Butler stepping up as his trusted sidekick, Golden State is looking more dangerous by the game.

If Butler’s prediction turns out to be true, fans might just look back on this moment as the one where the Warriors’ latest title run truly began — with Steph falling out of nowhere to save the day just like Batman.
